Change Begins with You
Seven months ago, on World Environment Day 2007, Michael Dell convened a roundtable discussion attended by some of Europe’s foremost environmental journalists. The event was the result of a months-long initiative to determine how Dell could become the “greenest” technology company on the planet and brought with it a sense of purpose beyond Dell’s core business.
“We often characterize a certain age group as typifying a generation, like the ‘Me Generation,’ ‘Gen X’ or ‘Gen Y,’ but it’s clear today that we’re living in the ‘ReGeneration,’” Michael told the gathering. “This includes people of all ages throughout the world who want to make a difference in improving the Earth we all share.”
After making this observation and publicly committing that Dell would become the “greenest” technology company on the planet, customers, partners and suppliers wanted to know what they could do to drive meaningful change. What steps could they take? How could they join? Where could they go to learn more?
With ReGeneration.org, our goal isn’t to create a news center, but rather to tap into our vast global network to provide perspectives on environmental topics and trends affecting people around the world. Over time, we’ll bring together experts, advocates, visionaries, authors and customers in an effort to foster the world’s most meaningful dialogue on the environment….dialogue that will lead to action and results.
We’ll ask tough questions. We’ll explore controversial topics. We’ll travel to every corner of the globe to uncover the most innovative and inspirational ideas being put into practice every day.
Our challenge to you: Join the ReGeneration. Write on the wall. Grab a backpack. Learn (and share) what you can do to protect the planet. As someone who is deeply involved with Dell’s environmental programs, and chief blogger at ReGeneration.org, I’m looking forward to your comments and ideas.
If we’re all going to be part of the solution, we must first be part of the conversation.
Put simply, change begins with you. Together, we’ll make a world of difference!
(I’ve enclosed a short video on what it means to be part of the ReGeneration. Check it out and let us know what you think).

Oh my! This is a beautiful way to be and share and take it to the masses. I thought I coined the phrase part of the Re-Generation, but it is no matter…to think others feel the same, the change has come, is coming, starting to truly flow. Great for all of us. Glad I found you. Take care-
