Going Green in Times Square

The ReGeneration team was at an event in Times Square yesterday commemorating World Environment Day and the launch of “Together.” New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was among the dignitaries attending the event and outlined his city’s aggressive environmental goals, such as having a completely “green” (hybrid) fleet of taxis by 2012 and planting a million trees by 2010.  His efforts to help New York City go “green” are ambitious and inspiring, and reinforce the need for businesses and governments to partner with one another to achieve ‘green’ goals together.

As we mentioned yesterday, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to add the ReGeneration’s voice and efforts to The Climate Group’s “Together” campaign.  Through the collective power of individuals and businesses, we can make a real difference in the future of our planet.  Let’s make that future “green” together.

Here are a few video highlights of Thursday’s event (including a vlog of MakeMeSustainable.com’s David Delcourt, remarks by Mayor Bloomberg and a few thoughts a visitor at the eco-innovation gallery shared with the team).  Be sure to check back Monday for more video highlights of the launch of “Together,” as well as attendees’ thoughts on the meaning of ‘green.’ We had a blast!

Thanks for sharing what green means to you!
