Netroots Nation - Day 2

Another day at the Netroots Nation 2008 event in Austin, Texas has come and gone, but the excitement on the exhibit hall floor we witnessed on the first day showed no sign of letting up.  The ReGeneration and Grist.org teams were out and about talking up green.  The bloggers and advocates we encountered were all very passionate about saving the planet, and were eager to join us in building a broad coalition to raise awareness and get the ball rolling on positive environmental action.

Grist.org’s own David Roberts even had the honor of sitting in on a panel discussing energy and the economy.  Complete video of the panel can be found here on Grist.

For our own part, we have some video of like-minded folks talking about the environmental issues they hold closest to their hearts.  Without further ado, here is Andy Wilson from Public Citizen Texas talking about global warming, and his ideas on what should be done about it:

Here is Raines Cohen of Berkeley, California talking about climate change, and his belief that we have the power to change the world for the better.  The Al Gore speech he mentions is the now famous “moonshot” speech in which Gore challenges the United States use 100 percent green energy by 2018 (ambitious, sure.  But can we do it?  Let us know in the comments section below).

More coming tomorrow.  Stay tuned!
